Spider Control in Ho Chi Minh City Homes, Offices and Factories
Quick answer. Most spiders in Ho Chi Minh City homes and offices are harmless to people, but webs on facades, ceilings, stairwells and warehouse roofs make a building look neglected. We treat corners, window and door frames, eaves and wall bases with a residual spray; spiders walking on the treated surface pick it up and die slowly. In factories and warehouses with high roofs we add misting on the roof area. Spiders follow the insects they eat, so the monthly general programme, which reduces those insects, is what keeps spiders down.
Spiders you will see
- Huntsman spiders: large, flat, brown, fast; they hunt cockroaches at night and do not build webs. Alarming but not dangerous.
- Cellar spiders: very long thin legs and loose, untidy webs in ceiling corners, stairwells and store rooms.
- Jumping spiders: small, compact, often on windows and walls in daylight.
- Orb-weavers and tent-web spiders: large webs on facades, gardens and between buildings, often around outdoor lights.
Spider bites are rare and usually no worse than an insect sting. See a doctor if a bite swells a lot, blisters or you feel unwell.
How we treat
- Survey: where webs and spiders gather, and which insects are drawing them there, often outdoor lights, drains or cockroaches indoors.
- Residual spray: ceiling and wall corners, window and door frames, eaves, behind furniture and along wall bases, where spiders walk and rest.
- Misting on high roofs: in factories and warehouses with high roofs, misting reaches the roof area where spiders build.
- Webs: we tell you which areas to clear of webs after treatment, so new webs show up at once.
Why monthly
Spiders keep arriving from gardens and neighbouring buildings, and egg sacs hatch after treatment. With fewer insects to eat, fewer spiders stay. The monthly general programme treats cockroaches, ants and other crawling insects as well as spiders, so the food supply drops along with the spiders.
What you can do between visits
- Brush down webs regularly; an old web left in place gets rebuilt.
- Switch outdoor lights off when not needed, or move them away from doors and windows; lights draw insects, and spiders follow.
- Keep store rooms tidy and boxes off the floor.
- Trim plants and trees touching walls and roofs.
Common questions
Are any spiders here dangerous?
Serious spider bites are very rare in Ho Chi Minh City. If you are bitten and feel unwell, see a doctor and take the spider, or a photo of it, with you.
Why do spiders come back so quickly?
They follow insects. If there are many insects around lights or drains, spiders come back to feed. Cutting the insects is the long-term answer.
How much does it cost?
It is usually part of the monthly general programme, priced by floor area. Starting prices are on the price list.
